Another Blog

I've created a new blog. It is a travel blog. You can find it at http://koshar.nl/travel It is a blog about our travels and travel in general. The site is in dutch however, because most people we know and are interested in our adventure are dutch speaking.

The site is build in Wordpress on our own domain koshar.nl

Big Spider

In the case you are considering visiting Australia. Be aware that there are some very big spiders around!!!

They are not my favorite insects and thats an understatement.

Uluru Part 2

We spent 2 nights at Uluru, so I got another chance at the sunset.

A good result I think. The following sunrise was much less impressive. Not even worth putting in the blog.

Visited Kings Canyon on the same day and did the rim walk.

Uluru at sunset

Today I watched the sun set on Uluru. The big rock in the red centre of Australia. A magical moment. I have to keep it short because I only have limited access to the Internet.

Victoria Wildlife

Finally arrived in Australia after a 26 hour flight!!!  Could have been a lot shorter but the plain got diverted to Sydney due to fog in Melbourne. I always thought plains could land in foggy conditions.

Few days on the road on and already spotted the Australian icons. Can you call them the big three? Koala, Kangaroo and Kookaburra.  We are now heading for Flinder Ranges in South Australia. I hope the weather gets better. Very cloudy, not good for a photographer.

Cricket World Cup Photo Impression

On April 2 over 1 billion people watched the cricket final between India and Sri Lanka. It seems the Netherlands is the only country in the world not watching cricket(yet). Might be the somewhat complex rules.

Loosing the world championship football final I know how the supporters from Sri Lanka are feeling. It hurts!

Take a look at The Atlantic website. They gathered some great images from the last few day of the 2011 Cricket World Cup.

The Big Picture also has some great pictures about the Passion for Cricket

Aerial Photographs Around the World

Aerial photography has always fascinated me. Looking down from a high distance gives a very different perspective on the world. I have tried it myself during a heli-tour above the bungle bungles NP in Western Australia.

Although I think made a good effort I can't compare to Yann Arthus-Bertrand. His book "Earth From Above" sold 3 million copies.
